individual needs.

pest control products?

natural, botanical- and mineral-based products as well as cutting edge,
synthetic biodegradable products that target specific pests. Three of the best
natural insecticides we use include pyrethrin (derived from chrysanthemum
flowers), diatomaceous earth (fossilized seashell particulates), and borates (a
heavy-duty salt). These ingredients have been used for centuries and are highly
effective in treating/preventing a variety of pests such as carpenter ants,
termites, small ants, fleas, cockroaches, beetles, flying insects, spiders and

scorpions, etc.
"Structural Pests"—or more
technically, "Wood Destroying Organisms (WDOs)," refers to insects
who can cause substantial damage to homes and buildings. These include
termites, carpenter ants, moisture ants and wood boring beetles.

services are developed differently for each of these categorie
Q. What is a pest control
Maintenance Program? What kind of frequency is recommended?
A Maintenance Program refers to a
regular pest control service schedule. The goal of a maintenance program or

it from future infestations. Maintenance plans begin with a comprehensive
Initial Service (or 'first') treatment and evaluation, and is followed up with
regularly scheduled visits that include both inspection and a targeted
preventive treatment.
Service frequency is tailored to
meet your needs depending on the target pest(s), climate, your home's
surrounding environment and more. We provide Monthly, Bi-Monthly (every other
month) and Quarterly maintenance programs. Pre-scheduled follow-up visits can
be increased or decreased as needed.
Q. How is a Maintenance Program
different from a Warrantee?
Maintenance programs consist of
on-going, regularly scheduled visits in order to manage and prevent pest
infestations, whereas a warrantee entails one comprehensive service that
includes free follow-up visits if pest activity occurs while the guarantee is
in effect. Alpha Ecological offers warrantee programs in one, two, three and
five year increments. To determine which situations may warrant a Maintenance
Program or warrantee,
Q. Do I need to be home for
maintenance services?

| Q |
What can I do to assist in the prevention of termite control? |
| A |
When a termite inspection is conducted you will be

Why should I hire a Pest Management Professional?
Your home is usually your greatest financial asset and pest and
termite control can be difficult due to varying structural elements and
soil conditions. We have access to such resources as specialized
products, tools, and training that help us successfully eliminate your
pest and termite infestations which most homeowners simply don't have.
Are the materials you use safe?
All pesticides are inherently poisonous and our state certified
technicians are trained to handle them with respect to human safety and
the environment. Alpha Pest Control believes strongly in choosing the
safest approach to solving each pest occurrence, and of course, all
materials we use are registered with the Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA).
Do I have to sign a long term contract?
No, absolutely not! Some of our service agreements do ask for a one
year commitment; however, none of our contracts are binding. If you
decide that you no longer want our service, there is absolutely no
penalty for cancellation.
Do the pesticides you use cause cancer?
No. None of the pesticides we use have any carcinogenic effects as
established through pre-registration laboratory testing required by the
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Do you utilize any non-chemical methods of control?
Alpha Pest Control practices Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which
utilizes many non-chemical control techniques such as sanitation,
harborage reduction, exclusion, sealing, mechanical controls and
environmental management.
Does the treatment have an odor?
No. All our applications are odorless or have low-odor alternatives.
Ask your Alpha pest professional if you have concerns about what you
should expect for specific treatments.
How long does treatment last?
Treatment effectiveness varies by type of pest, likelihood of
re-infestation and product longevity. Ask your Action pest professional
about your particular circumstance and they can give you a realistic
estimate.
I am considering a do-it-yourself alternative. What is the bottom line on pesticide risk?
The danger of any pesticide is all about exposure. The do-it
yourselfer often chooses over-the-counter products that are much more
toxic than the professional materials we utilize. To compound this
mistake, the homeowner is not trained in the application methods we
utilize that virtually eliminate any exposure to people and pets. If you
eliminate exposure, then you eliminate risk.
